A national resource for high-tech materials is needed now; luckily, we have one in Iowa
Most Americans, even if they’ve never sat in a chemistry class, carry a virtual periodic table of elements in their pockets.
That’s because our smartphones require as many as 75 of those 118 elements to produce. And smartphones are only one of many technologies that require such highly valued materials.
