My Conversation With AI’s Ayn Rand
Preview:
Artificial intelligence could be used to help address the ongoing challenge of limited viewpoint diversity in higher education by enabling students and faculty to engage with ideas they deeply disagree with in a low-stakes setting, making intellectual friction more accessible. Using AI to simulate conversations with thinkers whose perspectives differ sharply from one’s own can help people better understand opposing arguments and refine their own reasoning. Although AI cannot replace the nuanced exchange that happens in real human discussion, it may serve as a tool for practice and preparation before engaging with others, deepening critical thinking. Thoughtful integration of AI in this way might help broaden exposure to diverse viewpoints and improve how people engage with complex debates on campus.
